COURSE RESTRICTION: LE / MIL / GOV

This 2-day accelerated shooting course is designed to address the realities of lethal encounters in reduced-light environments. This course focuses on building performance as it relates to VISION (seeing), COGNITION (problem-solving), and RESPONSE (shooting).

Lawrence Police Department

Topics include:

·      Lowlight safety / Building safe shooters

·      Principles of lowlight / Lowlight theory

·      Performance on the gun and light

·      Range mechanics – Handheld & WML Techniques

·      Decision making in lowlight

·      Proactive & Reactive movement

·      Non-lethal training methods – Skill / Drill building

Live-fire Equipment List:

·      Handgun w/ 3 magazines and weapon light

·      Duty holster / belt setup or EDC / Concealment setup

·      Ballistic vest

·      600 rounds of handgun ammunition

·      Handheld flashlight

·      Extra batteries

·      Electronic ear protection

·      Eye protection – tinted and clear

Non-lethal Training Equipment List:
(Can be provided upon request)

·      NLTA handgun / conversion (UTM, Simmunitions, etc.)

·      200 NLTA handgun marking rounds

·      NLTA specific mask / helmet (No paintball masks)

·      Other PPE (Neck, groin, hand protection)

Other:

·      Note-taking device (Note pad, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.)

·      Range appropriate clothing (Consider inclement weather)

·      4 chem-lights or 2 powered marker lights

·      2 Sharpies / permanent markers

·      Food & beverages
